DeGEval Young Talent Award

Young talent award 2024

The Evaluation Society (DeGEval) Young Talent Award is awarded to an outstanding evaluator who has been working as an evaluator for a maximum of 5 years. The young talent award is endowed with prize money of €1,000.

Award process

The prize is awarded on the basis of nominations by members of DeGEval (institutional members or experienced evaluators with personal membership). Self-nominations are excluded.

The aim of the award is to make young evaluators visible who have already made outstanding achievements in the field of evaluation (in the form of qualification work, evaluation reports, publications, etc.) and who have the potential to help shape or influence the field of evaluation (e.g. through volunteer work).

If you know an evaluator at your institution or in your research environment whom you would like to nominate, please send a letter of recommendation and a CV (see CV template below) of the person to the DeGEval office by May 31, 2024.

The letter of recommendation should include a description of the nominee's outstanding achievements in the field of evaluation and, if applicable, a reference to one or more evaluation studies and the role and responsibility the nominee had in conducting them. We encourage a holistic view of the person's profile and ambitions in the field to be included.

The submissions will be evaluated by a jury according to a grid of criteria. The evaluations are discussed in a jury meeting and the submissions are ranked according to the points scored.

Timeline

  • Nominations can be submitted until 31.05.2024.
  • The jury decision will be made in June 2024.
  • The award ceremony will take place during the DeGEval annual conference, which will be held at the University of Potsdam from September 18 to 20, 2024. Further information on the conference can be found here.
